"Some Things Are Bigger Than Football"
GOLD OUT GAME
My name is Michael Papouras, and together with the CK Foundation, this fall, I'm leading an event to fight against childhood cancer called
"Some Things Are Bigger Than Football".
I became more aware of childhood cancer when I learned about Jack Sawyer from Mentor High School from my dad. He was superintendent of Euclid Schools during the 2023 Euclid–Mentor football game. Both schools wore gold items. Jack was honorary captain. A Euclid player gave him a shirt that said, “some things are bigger than football.” That line stuck with me. That is why I chose this name. I still have the shirt.
Jack’s motto was "PACE", which means
Positive Attitude Changes Everything.
I want this to honor his memory and every kid fighting cancer.
We're asking all local schools to participate in the fundraiser on the last football game of the season, the weekend of Friday, October 23rd. All proceeds will go to the CK Foundation and will be donated to childhood cancer research and to help families with children who have cancer.
Please join us in our fight to irradicate childhood cancer!
Thank you for your help and participation.
